Forrester: 2009 tech slump not as bad as 2001-2002

Given the “melt-down” economy so many are experiencing these days, it’s encouraging to hear that tech is down but not out.  Forrester Research predicts that 2009 global tech spending will be down 3% in 2009, then go positive after that.

Global tech spending slumped more in 2001 and 2002.  Spending was down 6% in both years. 

Take that with a grain of salt. Their forecast assumes the recovery begins in the US and other large economies in the last two quarters of 2009.
