No matter how you slice it, Seagate’s enterprise hard drives rule, according to a new survey of IT professionals.

Seagate named IT Brand Pulse LeaderIn an annual survey by market researcher IT Brand Pulse, Seagate was named the Enterprise HDD champion in all six award subcategories: market, price, performance, reliability, service & support and innovation.

Frank Berry, CEO and Senior Analyst at IT Brand Pulse explained: “Underscoring the maturity of this market, in seven of the twelve product categories surveyed, one entrenched leader swept all six awards.”

“Seagate is pleased to be recognized for the past four years running as the top enterprise HDD leader from this prestigious group of IT professionals,” said Barbara Craig, senior product marketing manager at Seagate. “It’s in our DNA to engineer, build and deliver innovative and reliable hard drives to meet the growing needs of on-premise and cloud data centers.”

IT pros from around the world responded to the independent survey, in which they were asked which vendors they perceived as the leader in 12 networked-storage products. Cisco, EMC and NetApp each captured “Market Leader” titles in two different product categories, while Brocade, Dell Storage, IBM, QLogic and Quantum joined Seagate as Market Leaders in other categories.

IT pros who voted in this year’s survey included representatives from AT&T, GE, NASA, Ford Motor Company, Federal Express, Lockheed Martin, MIT and Stanford University, among others.

Seagate shipped 60.6 exabytes in the December quarter. Within this, enterprise exabyte shipments were up 21 percent sequentially, “reflecting strong demand for our high-capacity enterprise products,” said Chairman and CEO Steve Luczo.
