Highlights of Seagate’s nomination included: the company’s reputation for innovation; its track record of making customer needs a top priority during product development; and its Partner Programs and support initiatives that help customers be more successful in a fast-changing industry environment.

Channel Middle East magazine—a respected publication among the IT community in the Middle East—established the awards nine years ago to recognize the companies, partner programs and individuals that have made the most significant contributions toward building and improving the regional IT channel sector. The Middle East data-storage market is expected to register a 14.4 percent compound annual growth rate through 2025, according to Future Market Insights.

This year’s event brought together more than 360 leaders from the vendor, distributor, reseller and retailer communities from across the Gulf region. The Components Vendor award category saw Seagate shortlisted alongside Intel and Foxconn, and ultimately taking the top spot in the category.

Ibrahim Mneimneh, Seagate’s senior sales representative in the ME region, and Marwa Ashraf, a sales and marketing analyst, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“The Channel ME Awards are a benchmark of success and attract top players in the IT industry,” Mneimneh said. “Winning in the ‘Components Vendor of the Year’ category is a measure of the hard work, focus and innovation demonstrated by employees across the organization.”

Sofocles Socratous, VP of global distribution at Seagate, said the award was a testament to the company’s commitment to supporting the development of the channel.

“The people who judge these awards are the industry’s most powerful executives, buyers and decision makers, so their opinions really do matter,” Socratous said. “I’m very proud that Seagate has been recognized in the Middle East region for its strong customer focus and commitment to providing partners with best-in-class support programs. It’s proof positive that we’re on the right track in a tough environment.”
