Security Products magazine awards 2015 Govies award to Seagate Surveillance HDD

Security Products magazine at last week’s ISC West Expo awarded a 2015 “Govies” Platinum Award to the Seagate Surveillance HDD, in the category of best “Video Surveillance Data Storage.”

The seventh-generation 6TB Seagate Surveillance HDD addresses the increasing need for high-resolution cameras and camera counts, and ensures cost-effective performance and durability in always-on surveillance systems. The drive is precision-tuned for high write surveillance workloads, reliably performs in multi-drive systems with RAID support, features rotational-vibration sensors for reliable performance, and offers custom power settings to best support motion-activated cameras with Idle 3 support.

The “Govies” Government Security Awards honor outstanding government security products in a variety of categories including Emergency Communications Systems, Network Security, Loss Prevention, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Solutions, and Green/Sustainable Solutions and Products. The award competition was first launched in 2009, and a record number of 67 entries were submitted this year.

Platinum and Gold designations within each award category were announced during ISC West Expo at Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Trophies were distributed to winners at their booths during the event. (Learn about the biggest trends surveillance system builders face this year, from Seagate’s ISC West webinar here.)
