[Video:] Storage, Big Foot, and Puppets…curious?

The team over at Rausch Netzwerktechnik – a Seagate Cloud Alliance partner – are always thinking outside the box. They recently put together a video introducing their latest Big Foot storage system using puppets, and, who doesn’t like puppets – right? Originally created in German, the team was gracious enough to throw together an English version complete with exploding hard drives! By the way, they really don’t do that when they fail, and they really don’t fail that often, but we’ll go along and share in a good laugh.

We last blogged on Big Foot in March 2011 when Rausch introduced “the world’s first 144TB in 4U dual storage server in a single box.”  The new version: the BigFoot XXL Storage offers up to 64 cores, 1TB of RAM and 192TB disk space in a 4U rack. And another bonus – it’s a 100% open design.

Recently, Rausch certified the Seagate Enterprise Capacity 3.5 HDD (Constellation ES3), Enterprise Value HDD (Constellation CS), and is working on qualification of the new Seagate 600 Pro SSD in the BigFoot XXL Storage system, so stay tuned.

Yet another innovative solution from a Seagate Cloud Alliance partner. Check it out.
