Artist Richard Kraft Uses Seagate Hard Drives in Making Which Is To Say

Starting from today to January 19, 2014, LA based artist Richard Kraft will be showcasing his work at the Laguna Art Museum as part of their ex•pose series.

Which Is To Say is a ten channel video installation where the viewer is immersed in light and motion: the flight of birds, the surge of water, the bustle of Grand Central station, the sky filled with an ecstatic dance of kites, the slow routine of the day unfolding along the edge of Ganges in Varanasi, India, among other projections that traverse the human and natural worlds.

The projections appear as diptychs and triptychs on four walls, juxtaposing disparate images, and thus creating and uncovering unexpected connections in order to view the world with a sense of wonder, to see what lies beneath the familiar and explicable. As things brush up against each other, the viewer discovers confluences and paradoxes as well as the beauty of the inscrutable and multitudinous.
