I got at UE BOOM recently and I promise you that for under $200, it’s everything you’ve ever wanted in a portable speaker.
First, it’s about the size of a water bottle that if you’re part of corporate America like me, you see everyone with during the weekly staff meeting. So while it won’t fit in your pocket, it’s still portable enough to take with you anywhere so the party won’t stop until you do.
Second, the sound quality is amazing. I DJ’d my afternoon house cleaning session with a mix of Hip-Hop, Bossa Nova and Classic Rock and each chord and lyric were as crisp and clean as a nice, tall glass of 7-Up. Plus, the 360° design delivers fresh beats no matter where you are in the room.
Lastly, setup is a breeze. The UE BOOM connects to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, so getting hooked up is as simple as hitting the power button. No, really, I’m not joking. If you’re not the most tech savvy person in the room, this device will make you feel like a computer engineer.
I will test my technology mettle and see how I can pair this device with my Wireless Plus. In theory, streaming from my device to my tablet then out through my UE BOOM should be a snap.
I want to find a downside with device, honest. But so far, I’m coming up blank. Between the 15-hour battery life with a rechargeable battery, the ability to work on multiple devices, the free app for iPhone or Android, the UE BOOM is the perfect device to make my Fortress of Solitude a little bit louder.
