And of course we cheered on our very own eSports team, Team Empire just as they helped cheer and entertain the fans and visitors at Seagate’s booth! (We were the only hard drive maker on the gaming show floor — and we had one of the coolest stands!)
Russia’s biggest videogaming expo
IgroMir Expo is the first and still the biggest Russian computer and video games consumer exhibition. Gamers, fans, makers and techies come together at IgroMir to buzz about the latest computer games, console games, handheld consoles games, mobile games and other electronic entertainment software and hardware. Welcoming more than 160 thousand people across four days, more than 200 companies show off entertainment products, including major international game publishers and developers like Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, Sega, Square Enix, Wargaming.Net and many others.
Why are gamers choosing SSHD?
Seagate channel marketing managers Adam Ciernicki and Sergei Savin were there to talk with gamers, gaming system integrators and other partners about why Seagate SSHDs have gained such favor with gaming enthusiasts in Europe, and all over the world.
“Many of our gaming system partners are building or promoting SSHD-based systems,” said Ciernicki. “We continue to see increases in SSHD sales in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Most of this growth, of course, is due to the fact that SSHDs deliver a better overall experience for gamers than conventional HDDs. And we’ve been working with our partners to drive more awareness of the benefits of SSHDs with the gaming community.”
Why SSHDs deliver a better gaming experience
“For casual to mid-level gamers, one of their biggest issues, aside from price, is whether they want to opt for the speed of a solid-state drive or the capacity of a conventional hard drive,” Ciernicki explained. “Seagate’s SSHD provides the best of both worlds by combining NAND flash storage with a hard drive, resulting in faster booting and game-loading speeds and less time spent watching progress bars.”

More Seagate SSHDs in Chillblast gaming systems
Chillblast is a system builder specializing in gaming PCs — both laptop and desktop. Chillblast sales director Ben Miles likes to call the Seagate Desktop SSHD a “Steam” drive, because is has the capacity to hold an entire eSports team library and to load games faster than any other hard drive on the market.
Chillblast said it’ll integrate Seagate SSHDs into all its gaming laptop systems. “This is actually a pretty bold move, as some system integrators feel a need to focus mainly on reducing prices when building their PCs,” noted Ciernicki. “By switching all their systems to our SSHDs, they’re making it clear they’re more interested in using the right drive for the job than in building a cheaper gaming rig.”

Super-special Team Empire MicroXperts PC
Ulmart is another great gaming partner Seagate’s working with, according to Savin. “Just recently, Ulmart started selling the very first MicroXperts PC model, branded by Team Empire and powered by a Seagate SSHD,” Savin said. “Team Empire is one of the e-Sports world’s leading gaming organizations, and sponsored by Seagate — we’ve collaborated on a number of campaigns targeting casual gamers, the recent ‘Play Like A Pro’ campaign.”
