Seagate Central Unveiled at CES

While the Consumer Electronics Show may now be a flutter in the wind for some, for us, it was a coming out party…sort of.

There were a slew of announcements coming from CES including our own for our Wireless Plus and Seagate Central devices. Adding to the announcement fun, Wireless Plus won CNET’s Best of CES Award, which we are truly honored by. Both are great products, but the Seagate Central really captures my attention and here’s why – accessibility.

This is the one device that you can use to capture all of your movies, music, photographs, pretty much anything, and have it all in one central location – accessible from anywhere.

I can’t count how many times I have been in a situation where I have had a particular song stuck in my head that I don’t want to re-purchase on iTunes because I know it’s home on my other hard drive. Or another situation where I have a great photo to accompany a story but it’s on my other portable drive in my other backpack. It’s safe to say I’m not the only person this has happened to which is why this drive is so essential to a digital lifestyle.

Plus with the ability to stream your content, it makes it really simple for me to have what I want, where and when I want it.  This is perfect for me when I’m not in the mood to watch Ultimate Spider-Man like other members of my household. (Granted, this is rare, but it happens.)

CES gave us a lot to absorb be it smart cars, smart phones, smart dishwashers, but there was no way I was going to let the Seagate Central get overlooked because it’s definitely a smart device!
