This is why the GRAMMY Foundation exists and they’ve been going strong for the last 24 years doing exactly that.
GRAMMY Week has kicked off and with it comes news, photos and announcements about the main event next Sunday. But before that happens, you get a taste of things to come with the GRAMMY Foundation’s 15th annual Music Preservation Project “Play It Forward ” taking place at the Saban Theatre this Thursday, February 7th. (Psst! Tickets are still available here.)
Underlining Seagate’s role at the center of the creative process — the creating, capturing, editing, securing, archiving and hosting of the arts in all their forms — Seagate is helping to preserve the music industry’s rich history when we sponsor the event.
Having attended last year’s event, One Night Only, I have a good idea of what to expect. There will be music (duh), singing (probably by me under my breath) and a great celebration of the legacy of the talent scheduled to perform.
One thing that was great about last year’s event was the exposure to artists I wasn’t as familiar with such as Jonny Lang or LP. I’m expecting the same to happen this year, but am equally excited to see Lupe Fiasco (who’s also a current GRAMMY nominee for Best Rap Album), Lianne La Havas and a long time favorite, George Thorogood and The Destroyers.
Play It Forward is sure to be an amazing night with all the talent scheduled to perform. Who you ask? Well besides those I’ve already mentioned, scheduled to perform are:

So when Thursday night comes, don’t be alarmed by the guy who’s trying to jump on the stage and hug whoever is performing. That’s just me celebrating the music and doing my part to play it forward.
Mostly alright, but it is always a deterrent to using a ticket purchase option when it involves “registering” rather than just simply buying the ticket. I got to that point, had difficulty with registering and password etc, and just stopped.
