The Power of Mobility

When was the last time you wrote a check? For me it was recently, but only because there are a few institutions that seem to be lagging in the adoption of a digital currency.  I find laggards painful, but they adapt at some point.

The power of mobile has exploded and mobile adoption is quickly setting the stage for technology over the course of the next 10-20 years. Given how quickly we are advancing in this space, I shudder to think what smartphones will look like in 2022. I can almost imagine iPhone 14X being a completely VR device that appears through a bracelet.

I remember when I started paying my bills online and thinking how convenient this is. No more checks, just a couple clicks of my mouse and boom – there goes my money.

But now, just a couple years later, I’ve gone the apps route where the majority of my bills are paid while waiting for a movie to start or during commercials of my favorite shows.

Even when it comes to content management, mobile has become instrumental in managing my photos and videos from my phone so that I can upload them through the Seagate Mobile App (available for iOS or Android) to my Seagate Central. You can’t imagine how much this came in handy this past weekend while out sightseeing. Once you get photo happy, you forget how fast your phone memory can fill up.

Plus, it’s easy to use! So easy, in fact, that we made this awesome video so I don’t even have to write it out for you.  Seriously, go watch it – it’s not even a minute long.

Mobile is quickly becoming the way of the future. You can see it as we move to next generation devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the scuttlebutt rumors about the iPhone 6. As the age of mobility continues, Seagate is committed to make sure its devices are step-in-step to make sure that your data is safe, protected and accessible – anytime, anyplace.
