Creating cost effective and robust business technology has become increasingly dependent on collaboration between companies with diverse expertise. This has been showcased in the growing popularity of OpenStack as well as partnerships between cloud providers. Cloudscaling, one of the first companies to contribute to OpenStack, recently announced its Elastic Cloud Partner program to help businesses better fulfill their customers’ needs.
Businesses that participate will receive technical and engineering consultant services as well as access to Cloudscaling solutions for testing. Cloudscaling is a valuable partner for those interested in leveraging open cloud infrastructure solutions. Current partners include Arist, Seagate, Juniper Networks and Avnet.
“We created the Elastic Cloud Partner Program in response to enterprises telling us that they need a complete OpenStack solution including a robust set of third-party products to address enterprise requirements,” said Andy Green, vice president, business and channel development of Cloudscaling. “With new features in version 2.5, Open Cloud System is the most mature, channel-ready OpenStack offering available. The Elastic Cloud Partner Program lets Cloudscaling customers choose the certified hardware, software and delivery partners to address their specific requirements.”
Ankur Singla, vice president of SDN and cloud strategy for Juniper Networks, noted that his company had looked at a number of OpenStack-powered technology. He commended Cloudscaling’s solution for being one of the “most mature and advanced cloud systems.” The two companies have already worked together to deliver solutions for early access customers.
Timothy Morgan, contributor for The Register, recently highlighted the factors that differentiate Cloudscaling’s solution. The technology is built on the ZFS file system and the release of Open Cloud System 2.5 added support for a larger range of hardware.
