EVault recognized as one of the 20 coolest cloud storage vendors

With cloud adoption rates rapidly increasing, vendors are doing many different things to deliver value to their customers. In an effort to recognize innovation, CRN recently published a list of the 20 coolest cloud storage vendors. The news source recognized EVault, a Seagate company, for its Cloud-Connected Services Platform. The solution allows independent software vendors to migrate assets to cloud storage and offer their programs through the software-as-a-service model.

EVault supplements the technological advantages of its solution with a wide breadth of support services, giving customers the ability to more easily tailor their offerings for SaaS. These services range from account and billing to customer service consulting. In addition, the company offers best-in-class IT infrastructure, as its data centers are SAS-70 type-II certified. This combination allows clients to draw from a deeper pool of expertise while leveraging powerful cloud storage infrastructure for new cloud deployments.

In addition to its existing benefits, EVault recently announced that it joined the OpenStack community and intends to add support for the platform within its own offerings.

"EVault is proud to have been a key contributor to cloud business adoption, having first introduced cloud backup solutions 15 years ago," said George Hoenig, vice president of open storage for EVault. "EVault is joining the OpenStack community of software developers collaborating on this scalable open source cloud management platform. EVault's parent company, Seagate, announced its commitment to working with the Open Source community on cloud-optimized hardware and software systems."

EVault said it plans to make contributions to OpenStack Swift, an object storage solution focused on high availability. Hoenig commended the technology for its self-healing capabilities and low storage management costs.
