Creative Professionals fueled by Seagate

Did you know you may use the same storage as some of the most creative artists in the world?

This week Seagate announced its new Creative Professionals Program (CPP), an initiative designed to drive greater awareness of how important digital storage is for the creative workflow for music, film and photography professionals. Initial program participants include Grammy award-winning keyboardist Rami Jaffee (The Wallflowers, The Foo Fighters), National Geographic photographer and NPPA Magazine Photographer of the Year Jim Sugar, Producer and audio engineer Andrew “Mudrock” Murdock (Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold, Riverboat Gamblers), Professional photographer Gary Copeland (Client roster includes: Volcom, Converse, Arnetter, Oakley, Epitaph Records), and DJ Jam (Official DJ for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg).

What separates the CPP from just any regular artist endorsement program is the fact that Seagate aims to educate people about the ins and outs of the workflow and share the stories of the passion and hard work that go into the music, films, and photos that we enjoy. And these creative professionals are certainly passionate. The digital age has changed the way people have approached their craft, and allows more options than was ever possible before to let their creativity and imagination flow. It’s all about helping people take their work to another level.

But what does this really mean for those not in the know in the industry? Looking at some basic examples, for a music producer, it can be about the amazing flexibility and choices in front of them when recording, editing, mixing, and mastering dozens or more individual audio tracks to tie them together to create that one, perfect hit song. For a professional photographer, it can be the ability to capture and store an image in the highest-definition and then having the freedom to visually edit the image to communicate their ideal vision. For A/V professionals, digital storage has provided the ability to create and edit content that can put an entire project together from start to finish on a computer, saving countless hours, as well as producing a final product that’s at the state-of-the-art in quality.

The Creative Professionals Program page on Seagate.com will provide visitors with biographical information about each participating artist, examples of their work, as well as which storage tools each professional uses to protect their digital assets, such as the Seagate FreeAgent® and GoFlex™ families of storage solutions. The site will also feature hyperlinks to each artist’s Internet properties, occasional guest blogs, videos and written interviews with each professional detailing how they incorporate storage into their creative process and the benefits each storage solution delivers.

Seagate’s a big fan of these artists and these artists are apparently big fans of Seagate.
