TGI Fridays has litterally everything on the menu, and so did Pepcom this year, and I’m not talking about the food (which was awesome by the way).
I went into the event with an open mind looking for some semblance of a consistent theme from one booth to the next. What I found was that no such theme existed. There was literally every walk of consumer electronics and technology. I found myself almost forcing a theme into Pepcom, but at the end of the event, I could not find one over-powering trend.
There was a fair share of “like” products from booth to booth, meaning common solutions that caught my eye . From what I jotted down on paper, the list looks like:
- Robotics – I almost tripped over at least 3 robots traveling through the aisles.
- Health – everything from workout apps to home healthcare solutions.
- Wireless – What would a tech show be without wireless solutions?
- Ultrabooks – Asus and Lenovo caught my attention more than any other.
- Apps – Everything from DVD burning, to network management, to smart televisions.
- Storage – Of course Seagate was there as well as WD and G-Technologies and some flash suppliers.
If Pepcom was any indication of what we will be facing the next few days at CES, I have my work cut out for me, but needless to say, it will be a fun ride.
I expect a fair share of the above in my coverage of CES…with a heavy emphasis on Ultrabooks, apps, and of course storage, but like Pepcom, I am going in with an open mind.
Stay tuned on seagate.com/ces.
Even more from CES.
