Just remember: don’t try this at home with a functioning drive that you still use, or one under warranty. Removing the top cover of the drive allows for dust particles, moisture, and other things to get inside the drive that will cause damage either immediately or over time. There’s my disclaimer…otherwise…if it’s some old drive that you don’t need anymore, have at it. The slow mo guys sure did.
