Storage Magazine has honored Seagate with its award for “Channel Partner Program of the Year.”
Now in its 12th year, the Storage Awards recognize and reward the industry’s outstanding products, services and people. Last year, more than 50,000 votes were cast by readers.
The Partner Program category saw Seagate compete with previous winners Tarmin and NetApp, as well as a number of other key players in the storage industry, including Barracuda Networks, Fujitsu, Imation, Quantum and SanDisk.
Dave Tyler, editor of the London-based Storage Magazine, explained: “when I weighed all the factors that make a vendor’s offering a ‘must-have’ for the channel, it was evident that Seagate understands the challenges facing IT and storage managers. Seagate’s channel partner program stood out as the best in the industry.”

Channel partners — which include distributors, resellers and system builders — play a significant role in Seagate’s success. The Seagate Partner Program (SPP) provides members with exclusive access to online tools and services designed to help build their business and sell Seagate products.
Sofocles Socratous, Seagate VP for EMEA sales and marketing, commended the SPP team for winning this industry accolade.
“This is well-deserved recognition for all the hard work and creativity that the team invests in developing and delivering a best-in-class partner program,” Socratous said. “They’ve evolved the program in line with our channel partners’ needs and concerns and have created a vital platform for them to become more successful in this dynamic industry.”
