If there is an AirPort card installed in your Mac computer, you can connect to your Seagate Wireless Plus. See the user documentation for your computer for the most up-to-date instructions on connecting to a wireless network.
Once you have uploaded content onto the Seagate Wireless Plus, here is how to connect to it wirelessly from your Mac computer:

  1. Select the Apple menu icon ().
  2. Select System Preferences.
  3. Under Internet and Network, select Network.
  4. Select AirPort from the list of network connection services.
  5. Select Seagate Wireless Plus from the list of networks.
  6. Launch a web browser (like Safari) and go to any URL or type 172.25.0.1 to automatically be redirected to the Seagate Wireless Plus main page.
Please note that you will not be able to connect wirelessly to your Seagate Wireless Plus if your computer has a wired connection to your router at the same time. You will need to disconnect the wired connection in order to connect wirelessly to your Wireless Plus.
 
How to Connect Wirelessly with a Windows Tablet:

Please follow these instructions to connect a Windows tablet wirelessly to your Seagate Wireless Plus, in Windows RT or Windows 8:

  1. Download the Seagate Media app from the Windows Store.
  2. Power on the Wireless Plus and wait for the LED to illuminate solid blue.
  3. On the tablet, click on the wireless icon located at the bottom right corner of the Windows desktop.
  4. Select the Wireless Plus from the list.

  5. Once you are connected, launch the Seagate Media app. You will get an automatic prompt asking you if you want to also connect the tablet to the internet at the same time. Select your regular WiFi network if you would like to have the tablet connected in a concurrent connection.
  6. You can now access your Seagate Wireless Plus content. It will be divided on the screen by category (Recent Items, Movies, Music, etc.). Scroll from the right-hand side of the screen to see other categories.

How to Connect Wirelessly with An iOS Device:

iOS mobile devices can use the Seagate Media app to help you search for and play media files on your Seagate Wireless Plus device.

Seagate recommends that you install this app before you connect to the Seagate Wireless Plus network. You can find the Seagate Media app for free in the app store. Once it's installed on your iOS device, follow these steps to use it:

  1. Power on your Wireless Plus.
  2. On your iOS device, open Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Select WiFi.
  4. Select Seagate Wireless from the list of networks.
  5. Launch the Seagate Media app
    or
    Launch a web browser and type the following in the address bar:
    172.25.0.1
    then press Enter.

You will now be able to view the contents of your Wireless Plus.

You will only be able to open files that are natively supported on your iOS device. Files that are not natively supported will either require that you re-encode them into a format that is supported by the iOS device, or will require that you download a 3rd party app that supports browser access to network drives. Android mobile devices can use the Seagate Media App to help you search for and play media files on your Seagate Wireless Plus device.

Seagate recommends that you install this App before you connect to the Seagate Wireless Plus network. You can find it for free in the Google Play store.

  1. Open Settings (the gear icon).
  2. Select Wireless & networks.
  3. Select WiFi settings.
  4. Select Seagate Wireless Plus from the list of networks.
  5. Launch the app or browser to access the content on the Seagate Wireless Plus.

Once you have put content onto the Seagate Wireless Plus, here is how to connect to it wirelessly from your Windows computer:

  1. Enable the wireless connection on the computer.
  2. Power on the Seagate Wireless Plus device.
  3. Select Seagate Wireless Plus from the list of available wireless networks.
  4. Launch a web browser and go to any URL or type www.seagatewireless.com to be automatically redirected to the Seagate Wireless Plus main page.

Please note that you will not be able to perform this if your computer also has a direct connection to your router. You will need to disconnect your Ethernet cable first before attempting to do this.
