For existing customers using Seagate Secure:
It is recommended that you disable security on the drive to prevent any potential issues where the drive can’t be unlocked, keeping you from accessing your data.
For new customers using Seagate Secure:
It is recommended that you do not enable Seagate Secure on an operating system where support is being discontinued. This is to prevent any potential issues where the drive can’t be unlocked, keeping you from accessing your data.
For existing customers using Backup and Mirror:
The software will continue to work but issues may arise for unsupported operating systems. If Toolkit starts experiencing issues, then the suggestion would be to use the built-in Windows utility.
