HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) Discover is the ultimate technology event for everything HPE where over 11,000 IT professionals gather to learn and connect. Last week, HPE Discover 2016 kicked-off in Las Vegas and did not disappoint. Attendees got to see firsthand how HPE is enabling the enterprise and Cloud to respond and adapt quickly with IT solutions for the “new style of business.” Partner collaboration and integration were also a highlight of the conference. This was especially the case at Discover’s Transformation Zone.
The Transformation Zone is the epicenter of Discover where attendees can engage with experts and partners, such as Seagate. The Transformation Zone highlights HPE’s range of solutions as well as partner advancements and technologies up close. Here, attendees took advantage of learning about partner collaborations with HPE and how it could benefit their own unique requirements. This year, Seagate had the pleasure of once again being a participant at the Transformation Zone in which we showcased our product portfolios and demonstrated how Seagate complements HPE’s over-arching theme at the conference – Accelerating organizations’ digital transformation journey and how one can turn an idea into value.
As a storage building block supplier (SSDs, HDDs, storage systems and cloud solutions) for over 50 years, Seagate is a one-stop shop for your all storage. Partnering for well over a decade, HPE and Seagate build solutions that optimize, scale, accelerate and create efficiencies in the datacenter. This is especially true for customers in High Performance Computing (HPC), Enterprise Storage, Web 2.0, virtualized data centers and the Cloud. At Discover, Seagate’s Cloud Systems & Silicon Group (CSSG) had the opportunity to share our solutions, from SSDs and enclosures to storage subsystems. Seagate SSD Technology
Seagate offers one of the broadest SSD and flash portfolios in the market to match every need of HPE’s customers enabling break-through performance. With a SSD portfolio ranging from flash Add-In Cards (AICs) to NVMe SSDs in multiple form factors, Seagate can not only meet performance, but density and cost requirements simultaneously. This includes SSD solutions for those who deploy HPE Cloudline (a server portfolio tailored to service providers building and operating massively scaled data center), HPE Third Party Options (3PO) with the Nytro XP6302 AIC and NVMe solutions, such as the XF1440 and XM1440. Attendees could also see Seagate’s fastest SSD in the world which was announced earlier this year.
Seagate ClusterStor
By relying on high performance storage like the Seagate ClusterStor, dense storage environments can maximize capacity and optimize performance. Purpose-built and field proven Lustre and GPFS parallel file solutions that are engineered for productivity and scale-out performance, ClusterStor features “cluster in a box” integration of dual high availability object storage, metadata and management servers that are monitored and managed by the Seagate ClusterStor Manager software stack.
Seagate OneStor
Seagate works side-by-side with HPE on the development of the 3PAR StoreServ 7000 and the StoreServ 8000 family of storage offerings. With Seagate’s enclosures and expansion modules and HPE’s controllers and operating system, these product families offer bullet-proof flexibility with one architecture and a single stack for both SSDs and HDDS. And by supporting convergence of block, file and object access, HPE’s 3PAR is the Tier-1 storage solution regardless of your workloads or scalability demands.
Seagate RealStor
For high-density storage, we showcased our Ultra48 SAN storage array. The controllers in this enclosure are from the same product family that HPE OEMs from Seagate for use in their MSA 1040 and MSA 2040 products. HPE also demonstrated the MSA 2040, which now supports flash, in two different areas on the show floor. Whether you need best-in-class performance or are looking to get the most capacity for your investment, MSA has a fast, affordable solution for you. MSA comes with an intuitive setup and management interface anyone can master. In addition, a key differentiator of these MSA models is our “secret sauce” tiering software and its ability to move data in real-time from tier to tier to optimize not only performance, but to achieve low $/IOPs as well as low $/GB.
True to its form, the HPE Discover 2016 was educational and it’s always amazing to see how quickly technologies can advance in a short period of time. The innovation and collaboration never gets stale and continues to progress and evolve.
