Between June 16 & 17th, the La Défense section of Paris will play host to the CRiP (Club des Responsables d’Infrastructure et de Production) Convention, an annual event of approximately 3,500 IT decision makers from 300 enterprise organizations, which have an average of IT budget of €15m. The attendees represent France’s most successful and recognizable organizations such as EDF, Axa, L’Oréal, Carrefour, Paris Airport, Airbus, Areva, and public sector department within the French Government.
Seagate is a Diamond sponsor for this year’s CRiP Convention, the theme of which is ‘IT Infrastructure 3.0 for Business.’
Seagate’s presence will be on the floor of the convention – in stand #80 – as well as during a Wednesday address, being presented by Ulrich (Uli) Plechschmidt, Managing Director, Cloud Systems and Solutions (CSS), EMEA. In growing Seagate’s CSS business, Uli brings more than 20 years of experience including leadership roles at ASG Software Solutions and Brocade.
Uli will present Helping Leaders of the ‘3rd Platform of IT’ Manage the Challenges of the ‘IT MOOSE’. Forrester’s concept of the IT MOOSE (maintain and operate the organization, systems and equipment) is a useful framework to explain why CIOs and IT leaders have one of of the shortest tenures in the board room of enterprises. As the unprecedented explosion of digital data in the “3rd platform of IT” era is THE main reason feeding the growth of the IT MOOSE threatening the continued success of IT decision makers.

This session focuses on how Seagate – having seen this coming and having assembled unique capabilities in the last years in its Systems and Solutions unit – can help enterprise IT leaders to cope with the unprecedented data explosion at Petabyte scale. It is therefore intended for Petabyte scale users of for those whose data growth trajectory will bring them to the Petabyte level within the next two years.
