Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Seagate
Seagate Professionals of Color (SPOC) raises awareness and provides support to people of underrepresented affiliations within Seagate. We support inclusion through community outreach, education and leadership engagement.
“As a founding member of the SPOC ERG, I am proud of our progress and the initiatives we have put forth to improve diversity here at Seagate. Although we have encountered many obstacles, I am encouraged by the support of our executive sponsors and allies to make Seagate a place of equity, belonging, and representation for all employees.”

By partnering with organisations including the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), SPOC strives towards developing a pipeline for underrepresented students to kickstart their careers at Seagate.
Employees across all our sites are encouraged to participate in ERGs. SPOC promotes engagement by holding socials, meetings, and events for their members to cultivate more inclusion in the workplace.
Seagate participates in the McKinsey Connect Leaders Academy with over 100 employees going through the program.
A three part video series highlighted the voices of our Hispanic employees. Giving them the platform to share their stories and discuss their favourite parts of being Hispanic.
SPOC has helped arrange lunch events for employees to learn more about Seagate employee resource groups.
Throughout Black History Month and the year, Seagate fosters meaningful discussions exploring intersectionality, advancing racial equity, embracing global perspectives, and celebrating the diverse spectrum of multiracial identities.
For the second year, three Seagate employees — Adrienne Hester, Senior Engineer; Arati Kulkarni, Senior Staff Analyst, and Yasmine El-Khatib, Staff Engineer — received "Technology Rising Star" recognition by the Women of Color STEM Conference. The awards were earned for their outstanding achievements in the workplace during the 2022 conference.
Our group continues to look for ways to leverage the ERG by partnering with strategic stakeholders to cultivate a more inclusive, equitable and nurturing workplace. For example, SPOC is proud of the progress made in essential employee engagement efforts, pipeline development and leadership enablement.
Because who you are matters to us.
