Way Ahead of the Pack: IronWolf Pro Voted “Best Hard Drive” for Third Time

Best Hard Drive Award European-Hardware-Awards-2019It’s a “three-peat” for Seagate’s IronWolf Pro hard drive.

The network-attached storage (NAS)-optimized drive last week won “Best Hard Drive” for the third straight year at the European Hardware Awards. The awards, which were announced at the Computex Taipei technology show in Taiwan, were voted on by more than 100 technology press editors who comprise the European Hardware Association.

Now in its fifth year, the European Hardware Awards recognize the “best of the best” in 42 categories, including smartphones, notebooks, VR products, wearables, NAS devices, SSDs, CPUs, gaming products and more.

The IronWolf Pro was selected “Best Hard Drive” from among a diverse set of finalists; the finalists group included four Seagate products — twice as many as any other storage company. Those products included Seagate’s BarraCuda Pro, Exos and FireCuda hard drives.

The IronWolf Pro drive is engineered for maximum responsiveness and uptime, with an industry-leading workload rating of up to 300TB per year and a fast 250MB-per-second data- transfer rate. The drive is designed to meet the needs for file sharing, remote access and backup for small and medium-sized businesses and creative professionals.

This latest award continues Seagate’s success in the NAS space. This week Seagate also announced new 16TB IronWolf and IronWolf Pro drives — the world’s highest-capacity drives. And in January we launched the world’s first NAS-optimized solid-state drive, the IronWolf 110 SSD.
