Files backed up using Memeo Instant Backup can be restored several ways. This article will cover three options.
Option A: using the Memeo Premium backup interface.
Option B: restoring an older version of a file using Windows Explorer.
Option C: restoring a deleted file using Windows Explorer.
Option A - Restoring backup using Memeo Premium Backup interface.
- Open Memeo Premium by double-clicking the icon in the system tray.
- Click the View and Restore button.
- Choose a backup plan you want to restore in the upper left Select a Plan window.
- Choose files to restore:
Search for an individual file;
--OR--
Browse the folder tree for the files or folders to restore.
If the files are not found, check the box in the upper right that says Show deleted files. - Click Restore.
Files will be restored at this point. Click the green link to open the folder that contains the restored files.
Note: The files will be in their original folder structure, so if the file was in (My) Documents it will be in the following sub folders:
Windows XP: C_\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents
Windows Vista: C_\User\username\Documents
Windows 7: C_\User\username\Documents
Option B - Restoring an older version of a file using Windows Explorer.
- Open (My) Computer.
- Browse to where the file you want restored was originally.
- Right-click on the file.
- Highlight the Memeo LifeAgent option.
- Choose Restore from the name of your backup.
- Choose the date of the version you want to restore.
The files will restore at this point.
Option C - Restore a deleted file using Windows Explorer.
- Open (My) Computer.
- Browse to where the file you want restored was originally.
- Right-click on a empty area in the folder that used to contain the file.
- Highlight the Memeo LifeAgent option.
- Choose Back in Time.
- Choose the date the file existed in the left window.
- Check the box next to the file to be restored.
The files will restore at this point.
