Friday Fun – The haunting sound of Darth Vader and old storage

What sound is more chilling…the sound of a floppy drive, or the Imperial March of Darth Vader?

“The Imperial March” is first heard in The Empire Strikes Back in 1980, and over the past 30 years the chill of John William’s composition still gets to me today. You know the one…the music that plays most commonly when Darth Vader enters a room. In fact, it can still be heard today at college football games across the country.

Or maybe it’s the bone chilling sound of floppy drives churning as our data gets written to them, or accessed from them. I don’t know which one is more burned into my brain. Well this is one way to kill two birds with one stone. Check out this rendition of the Imperial March played so horrifyingly by our old Dark Lord of storage…the floppy drive.

More Friday Just for fun.
