A year of blogging

One year and 237 posts ago, Storage Effect started as an experiment in connecting with the storage community.

What’s different since last year?  Almost everything! The economy, storage capabilities, the price of a gigabyte, the political landscape.

What hasn’t changed?  Digital content continues to grow – both in quantity and value. Which continues to drive storage growth and change, despite the gloomy world outlook.

So…my mission hasn’t changed.  I’ll keep blogging.  It’s been a blast!

If you’re not blogging, consider it.  Regardless of how many readers you have, it will change you and point you toward the future.

I searched your site and found nothing on the ST-225 and that saddens me. I think you should have a post about the beloved Seagate ST-225 from Seagate’s perspective. It was the 20MB entry to computing for so many people. For those of us who serviced computers we can reminisce about all its MFM goodness. Honoring the past we can see how far we have come. Thanks!

Good idea! I recently found a bronzed ST225 here at Seagate. I’ll put something together on this classic drive. Stay tuned.
