[Video] Storage, literally, at your fingertip

Is this the beginning of a new species:  half human – half computer?  Start with smart prostheses and move on from there?

I’m going to go back to my childhood here…remember  “The 6 Million Dollar Man” starring Lee Majors? Steve Austin , a wounded astronaut has his right arm, both legs and the left eye replaced by “bionic” implants that enhance his strength, speed and vision far above human norms: he can run at speeds of 60 miles per hour (100 km/h), and his eye has a 20:1 zoom lens and infrared capabilities,” according to Wikipedia.

This is hardly that, but it does make you think. With technology getting smaller, thinner, lighter, and much more efficient, what are the chances of it becoming an extension of ourselves more than it already is today?  What if it physically becomes part of us, running on our own energy, and capable of exercising more than the very small % of the brain we utilize today?

Okay, way too deep…

It’s just a cool video of some guy that turned a prosthetic finger into USB storage. Provides the case for renaming the term “Thumb Drive”.

Sorry, had to go there.

If you could make any technology a part of you, what would you want first?
