SeagateCreative Industry Spotlight: Secretly Canadian

If you’re hip to what we’ve been up to this year, you know that we’ve launched SeagateCreative: a forum, gallery, classroom and community for artists, musicians, filmmakers and photographers.

Starting this month, as a new feature of SeagateCreative, we will highlight industry partners who advocate for artists and bring you insight to different aspects of the creative process from both artist and industry professional perspectives.  We’ll also be posting videos, mp3s and other relevant news about our partners and their rosters throughout the month on  SeagateCreative.

Our first partner is independent record label, Secretly Canadian, founded in 1996 in the tradition of American record labels such as Touch and Go, Dischord, and K Records. While Secretly Canadian has extended its reach to serve artists globally, with offices in New York and London, their home office is still based in Bloomington, IN. Secretly Canadian remains fiercely independent, committed to the curation of bold new sounds and to supporting the artists who create those sounds. Home to a diverse roster of artists such as Damien Jurado, The War On Drugs, and Here We Go Magic, Secretly Canadian looks forward to a slew of brilliant new albums from Antony and the Johnsons (8/7/12), Yeasayer (8/21/12), Jens Lekman (9/4/12), and Taken By Trees (10/2/12).

If you haven’t already, join the community at SeagateCreative and look for special tidbits and news from inside the walls of our favorite industry friends and trends.  Be sure to add Secretly Canadian on Facebook and Twitter.
