The Landscape of Big Data

There is no denying that big data is a big deal. For those of you just joining our program, “Big Data” is defined as sets of data that is so large or complex that it can’t be managed with traditional data processing applications. Netflix is a prime example of a company that leverages big data to make recommendations to it’s subscribers based upon viewing preferences — or to make amazing shows like House of Cards.

Big data statistics are always increasing because more content is being produced whether it’s video, audio or in my case recently, PowerPoint presentations.
