The Summer of Satellite – San Francisco, CA.

With school back in for many, it’s becoming clear summer is coming to an end. We’ve had a great time virtually touring through New York, Chicago and Miami, but all good things…

Speaking of “good things”, for our last stop we jet west to the city by the bay, San Francisco.  It’s a long flight from Miami, so let’s load up your 500GB Satellite device with some music and movies to get you ready.

Music to represent San Francisco is as varied as the city itself. Here are some tracks that’ll prepare you for every neighborhood whether you’re in The Mission, Noe Valley, or The Marina.

San Francisco has been the backdrop for many amazing films over the years. The rolling hills and dense city have made for exciting car chases and fascinating restaurant scenes with classic, iconic landmarks that can’t be completely fabricated. Here are some varied films that will show you the breadth of the city.

• Bedazzled – Haven’t you ever wanted to make a deal with the devil, especially if she looks like Elizabeth Hurley? Well so did Brenden Fraser.
• The Rock – Cage & Connery make a great duo saving San Francisco from a military unit who’ve gone rogue. x
• When a Man Loves a Woman – A solid, romantic drama about testing the limits of love with San Francisco as the backdrop.
• They Call Me Mister Tibbs! – Sidney Poitier plays a SF Police Lieutenant investigating a homicide.

You can’t leave San Francisco without taking some postcard like photos. Here are some recommendations for the ideal photo opps.

• Chinatown  – Start at the main gates and your camera go to work as you enter another world letting the spirit of the East take over.
• Palace of Fine Arts – Vibrant colors, breathtaking structures, you’ll be here awhile if you’re looking for a prime photography stop.
• Union Square – Known for shopping yet great for photography of people, landscape and architecture.
• Pier 39 – Whether it’s the seals or the smells, everything about Pier 39 is great to capture on film. Prep your Instagram and pack an appetite for some good eating.
• Twin Peaks – Two of the highest peaks in the city of San Francisco that gives you a great view of the city. On a clear day, you can see forever.

Just because the summer season is transitioning to fall doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy movies, music and photos on your Satellite device. I’m not ready to start thinking about the holidays yet, but as they draw near we’ll get ready for a white Christmas that will help you jingle all the way to your local shopping center.
