Today’s Tech Gets Smaller and Storage Needs Get Bigger

iPhone_WatchThere was a lot of buzz coming out of the recent Apple event where during the keynote tech trailblazers and Apple enthusiasts were given an extensive look at the Apple Watch and the latest iteration of the MacBook. Both look incredible.

Apple Watch takes all the key features from all of their previous devices like the iPhone and iPod and scrunches it all down to fit effortlessly on your wrist. Apps are already in development including Shazam and Uber as well as their digital commerce system, Apple Pay.

News about the new MacBook was equally golden. Coming in at just under two pounds, with keys ~40% thinner, no fans and consuming 30% less energy, this new system is perfect for people always on the go or constantly transitioning from meeting-to-meeting frequently. With up to 9 hours of wireless web browsing, there’s no excuse to not submit your TPS reports on time – with the mandatory new cover sheets.

The nature of our business has us keeping an eye on these developments in technology. Companies such as Apple really keep a finger on the pulse of their community and create products that meet the need of their customers.

So does Seagate.

While it may be a small thing to consumers, what’s a big deal for us is the storage capacity for these new devices. The new MacBook is listed as having 256GB and if you believe the rumors for Apple Watch, the device will cap at 4GB. This makes partnering your device with a product like Seagate Seven or Seagate Wireless so crucial. With up to 4TB, our portable external hard drives will keep your music, movies and photos portable giving you anywhere access anytime you need it.

With products like Apple Watch and the new MacBook, Apple is keeping itself on the technology frontier as Seagate is. As today’s tech gets smaller in size to be manageable for consumer wants, Seagate products will continue to grow meeting consumer needs for access to their content as quickly as they can create it.
