What Data is Important To You?

One task I’ve been putting off doing is organizing my data. I regret it being something that I didn’t do better initially because now things have grown somewhat out of control.

This was something I was going to try and conquer during the holiday break but it’s like cleaning out the garage – something you need to do, but don’t want to do. (Which actually is something else on my to do list as well.)

See, I’m a collector – a digital rat pack if you will. I’m much better than I used to be where I’d collect silly things like custom cursors or wallpapers. Now it’s more music and photos. But what ends up happening is that I just do a collective dump off my phone with the intent of going through it later to clean it up. But “later” becomes “tomorrow” and “tomorrow” becomes “when I have time off” and so on.

Does this sound familiar to you?

So I guess it’s safe to say that after being here over a year, the ability to have the right tools for the job is one of the reasons I came to Seagate.

Enter Wireless Plus.  Sometimes you’re in a situation where you don’t realize how much you actually need something until you have it. (Probably like owning a tablet, or a llama.)

In case you missed my recent post explaining why you should care about Wireless Plus, being able to bring your content with you anywhere to access anytime really makes the question of what data is important to you a moot point. With 1TB of space, you can take it all. Anywhere.

I had a computer fail a few years back but was able to save the hard drives from it. I recently uncovered a treasure chest of music, movies and photos I pretty much forgot I had. I tossed them all onto my Wireless Plus drive and am now living like it’s 1998 all over again. (Although, maybe this isn’t such a good idea some days.)  And yes, I even properly organized it.

Organizing your data is a boring job. It’s a time consuming job. But it’s an important job. As we continue this digital age, you may come to find you don’t need Star Wars cursors of the lightsaber of every major character in the film. But you may want to have your music or photos to reflect on what was and daydream about what will be.

I know what data is important to me. How about you?
