Paste Magazine recently pulled some lists together touting what they feel are the “Best of 2013 (So far)” for albums, movies, videogames, books and TV shows. Having taken a gander at these lists, I’ve learned one thing – I need to read more, listen more, play more and watch more.
I’m glad to see some of my favorites on there like Mad Men, The Walking Dead or House of Cards for TV and Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider for videogames. But it made me realize that when it comes to books, music and movies, I need “more” because I’m behind on what’s current.
I don’t get the chance to read as much as I’d like to (wait, do comic books count?) but their list will help me keep an eye out for what may get translated to a film in the future. It’ll also give me a sense of what to expect to see nominated for awards next season. For that reason alone, lists like this always get my attention.
