FreeAgent Theater+ times(x) more

Maybe Seagate’s FreeAgent Theater+ HD media player should be the FreeAgent Theater X because it seems Seagate is not simply adding more features to it, but multiplying its capabilities.

Today, Seagate announced availability through a simple firmware download, more features including NetFlix streaming support.  Personally, I have been waiting for this feature myself to jump on the Theater+ bandwagon.  Quite frankly my kids will be happier streaming NetFlix movies to the family room versus being forced to watch in the office on the PC.  I guess I can kiss my exclusive rights to the home theater away since Seagate just made it easier for my kids to stream sitting on the couch.

In addition, Seagate added user generated content via YouTube and Mediafly, as well as internet radio from vTuner.

So in the past week, Seagate gave us movies preloaded on hard drives, and now access to unlimited amount of content via NetFlix, YouTube, and others.  They’re making it awful easy…what’s next…Seagate branded popcorn?
