[Infographic:] World of Data in Gigabytes per day

Yeah, yet another infographic on data!…but this one has some insane numbers when you put them into a common unit of measure and time stamp. Let’s use Gigabytes per day, at least for the ones I can figure out…

  • Number of Emails Sent: 1,252,800 Gigabytes per day (assuming an average file size of 5KB)
  • Data Consumed by US Households: 42,225,000 Gigabytes per day
  • Video Uploaded to YouTube: 21,000 Gigabytes per day per this post by Geek.com
  • Data Processed by Google: 24,000,000 Gigabytes per day

In total, that’s 67,498,800 Gigabytes per day, 67,499 Terabytes per day, or 67.5 Petabytes per day (if my math is correct).

Good thing we have the cloud huh?
