What does 30 years look like in terms of storage innovation? Just consider that in 1980, IBM’s 1 Gigabyte hard drive was the size of a refrigerator, weighs about 550 pounds, and costs $40,000. Just to put 30 years into perspective…compared to Seagate 1TB 2.5-inch and a 3TB 3.5-inch hard drive, it’s so staggering, it’s funny:
