Video games and content: more! More!

This video from a few years back is still technologically relevant. While video game effects age pretty quickly (although I’m still impressed with the detail 2K Sports had in its games in 2006), the insatiable demand of games for more and more content is timeless.

Video game content used to be happy on a chip.  Later, roomy DVDs seemed like the answer.  Now disk drives are playing a key role in gaming consoles, especially as they vie for the title of Home Entertainment Hub.

Will these consoles revert to chips once flash capacity price points get in the ballpark?  Please chime in – opinions please!
