Things to Come at E3 2012

While the show officially opened today, what really kicked things off were the press conferences that took place yesterday with Microsoft (Xbox) and Sony (PlayStation), followed by Nintendo (Wii) this morning.

Much to the surprise of probably no one, there were no new consoles announced. The big three are going to continue to develop for existing systems doing they best they can to make them fully integrated entertainment systems.

But then came the games. Some of the highlights mentioned where the following:

  • Gears of War Judgment
  • Forza Horizon
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
  • Halo 4
  • PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
  • Tomb Raider
  • Wii Fit U

And many more.

Not to be outdone, key game publishers also got into the mix with their own conferences. At the EA junket, some of the highlights included:

  • Battlefield 3 Premium
  • Need for Speed Most Wanted
  • Sim City and Sim City Social
  • Medal of Honor Warfighter

Ubisoft also joined the fray showcasing:

  • Assassin’s Creed 3
  • Watch Dogs
  • Far Cary 3
  • Just Dance 4
  • Shootmania

The stage is set and now it’s time to get to the floor to see what’s really going to be a…wait for it…game changer.
