The Photography Behind Mess With Texas at SXSW 2012

It’s been an active last couple weeks for Team Seagate. Actually, like a bullet train leaving the station, ever since CES, we’ve been out in the world at various events and festivals showcasing how storage is part of everyday life whether it is in the world of film, music or gaming. And before you ask, no, we’re not slowing down.

South by Southwest may have come and gone, but you wouldn’t be able to tell if you did a Twitter search.  While we’ve already had posts highlighting our SeagateCreative program, one thing I was especially impressed with — that you must not miss in all the SXSW action — was our Mess With Texas partnership featuring three top photographers in the business; Shawn BrackbillCharles Bergquist and Tod Seelie.

Shawn Brackbill is a portrait music and fashion photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. Highlights: INTERVIEW Magazine, MOJO, Real Estate, Elvis Costello, TV On The Radio, David Byrne, The Kills, SALEM, Cold Cave, Kurt Vile. View more MWTX photos.

Music by Tycho

Charles Bergquist is a director, designer and photographer currently living in San Diego, California. Highlights: Pitchfork, Fader.com, IFC; directed music videos for Matthew Dear, Tape Deck Mountain, Viernes and Tycho. View more MWTX photos.

Music by White Arrows

Tod Seelie is a Brooklyn based photographer who specializes in capturing the energy of live performances. Tod is also a contributor to VICE’s Noisey.com and the arts and culture site Fecal Face. Highlights: Profiled in The New York Times, contributor: New York Magazine, Rolling Stone, Spin, Juxtapoz, Thrasher and FYF. View more MWTX photos.

Music by Crystal Antlers

This partnership gave us and our community of visually artistic friends on SeagateCreative a chance to glimpse how three very different artists might capture the same event but with their own very unique flavors. A special thank you to Shawn, Charles and Tod for your work at the MWTX show. Want more? Check out the entire SeagateCreative photo library.
