“In-car internet service provider Autonet Mobile is teaming up with Mercedes-Benz and turning your car into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot.”
That’s the summary statement from this post by Amir Iliaifar on Digital Trends. “Autonet Mobile is teaming up with the three-pointed star to give Benz owners the ability to equip current model year 2012 and older C-, E-, S-, M-, R- and GL-class vehicles into truly mobile hotspots with the company’s Wi-Fi entertainment system accessory.”
According to Autonet Mobile’s website, you have two monthly data packages to choose from. A $29 monthly plan that includes 1GB of data per month, or a $59 monthly plan that boasts 5GB of data per month. They even provide a nice chart that shows you what it means to you from a content perspective:

Based on what we saw at CES this past January, the car is quickly becoming the next great frontier in terms of not only being an internet enabled device, but also, in the case of Autonet Mobile & Mercedes, a mobile hotspot.
