CES – Perking Up My Ears

One of the interesting things about the Consumer Electronics Show is finding out what people are most interested in learning about or what garners their attention.  I’ll admit I’m into the shiny. I love devices that make life easier, do interesting things or are simply just cool. (Editor’s note: maybe you’re just lazy.)

I’ve been reviewing some of the news coming out today from the show and there has been a lot. Just a simple Twitter search for #ces could possibly blow up your computer.  Here are a couple quick hits on things that have caught my attention making my ears perk, but this is just the tip of the iceberg.

LG Electronics OLED 55” Television:
Thin? Check.
Sleek? Yup.
Vibrant colors? Seems like it.

First thought? Would be great to play Bioshock Infinite on this bad boy. This is the kind of television that will make me try to get a bigger apartment, and a raise. Keep an eye on this one, folks.

Samsung Galaxy Note comes to America:
It’s been out across the pond for some time but now this device that nicely walks the line between smartphone and tablet will be available on US soil sometime soon.   With a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, video recording in full HD and a 1.4 GHz processer, the only thing this device is missing is the ability to walk your dog.

Asus Transformer Prime TF700T:
Taking a page from the Apple playbook, the Transformer Prime is sleek, sexy and designed to be taken anywhere.  But Asus isn’t done and with the upcoming TF700T, you’ll have a 2 megapixel front-facing camera, new back panel design and will run on Android’s latest OS – Ice Cream Sandwich.

That’s all for the moment, but let this wet your whistle.  Things will be coming in fast & furious (no, not that Fast & Furious) this week so keep an eye on our official CES page for news, pics and more as well as our Twitter.
