Don’t Stop (Making) the Music

I’ve always loved music. Listening to it, dancing to it, even singing to it. (As long as no one else is around, that is.)

However one thing about music I never could catch the fire of was playing an instrument. I tried trumpet, piano, and even the recorder, but nothing stuck.  The reasons why are numerous, but regardless, it never took away from my appreciation for music and the artists who make it.

So in keeping with the CES theme of innovations, there were a few companies working within the space of music development I wanted to make mention of here.

iConnect:
The iConnect Midi is a device that allows for multiple, simultaneous, MIDI-USB connections. Gone are the days where you have to setup multiple MIDI boxes to bring the band together. This small, portable device let’s you do it all for your iOS device or standard keyboard. The iConnect Midi retails for $179.

Line 6:
The playing of Dust in the Wind is what drew me to the Line 6 booth. Watching the pretty pixels dancing from the Mobile POD® app available for iPhone kept me there. Mobile POD is an app that when used with the Mobile In gives you over 60 models of amps and effects for your guitar with amazing digital output.  Retailing for $80, this is a great tool for guitarists.

This is just a quick sampling of some of the music application vendors on hand for the show of things that caught my eye (or ear).  If you’re a music artist you’ll definitely want to check these tools out and, well, give them a listen.

Comments – we’ll take them. Questions – we’ll answer them. Tweets – we love them. Share your thoughts.
