I’m Professionally Creative

(cc Gary Copeland)

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but I’ve made note to Seagate’s Creative Professionals Program (CPP) in a post or two recently.  I wanted to give some background on what it’s about because it’s something I think is amazingly cool.

The Creative Professionals Program is an opportunity for musicians, artists, filmmakers, photographers to work directly with Seagate not only for the purpose of sharing their work, but to share the creative process and how Seagate products tie into that process.

Having launched this past February, there are already a number of professionals part of the program including:
Musicians:
DJ Jam
Cyndi Lauper

Photographers:
Jim Sugar
Gary Copeland

Filmmaker/Videographers
Graham Nash
Chris Metzler & Lev Anderson

This is only the tip of the iceberg. If you like what you see in the CPP, then you’ll want to stay tuned for things to come over the course of the next year. Whether an amateur just starting out or a professional who’s been around the block a few times, if you’re into music, film, photography or art, we will give you an inside look into what makes the creative process, well, creative.

At Seagate, we believe storage is everything – “The epicenter of the digital ecosystem.” Think of it like The Force – something that “surrounds us, penetrates us” and keeps our data safe. However data storage isn’t just something only for the “creative types”, but for everyone. It’s the grandmother cherishing a memory of yesteryear. It’s the parent who wants to chronicle the new experience of having a baby.  It’s the athlete reviewing game highlights to improve his performance. It’s the musician who’s created his opus and wants to share it with friends or upload it on SoundCloud. We have a digital lifestyle as part of this digital world. All we do is make tools available for you to retain it.

Some day I will be part of the Creative Professionals Program… Wishful thinking? Perhaps, but a girl can dream.

Thanks for the breakdown though – makes much more sense now.
