Korea Team Connects with Holt Town Residents

Several employees from Seagate’s Korea Design Center spent an afternoon volunteering at a residential facility for children and adults with special needs.

40 employees visited Holt Town in Ilsan earlier this month, where they helped out with daily chores, took residents for walks, played games and prepared snacks for them. Seagate’s volunteers were met with a welcoming performance from the Holt choir, “Voices of the Soul.”

Chief Technology Officer Mark Re and Haki Bae, VP of Operations at the Korea Design Center, also took part in the volunteer activity.

“I was very moved by the experience,” Re said. “Giving back to those who need a helping hand is one of the things Seagate employees do well. It makes me proud to be part of this team.”

“It was a humbling experience, and I felt as if I was being healed,” Bae added.

Seagate also made a corporate donation for the purchase of liquid food for residents who need to be tube fed. “I was very moved by the Seagate volunteers’ enthusiasm and sincerity,” said Il-hyun Shin, director at Holt. “I hope that Holt Town and Seagate can continue this relationship for a long time.”
