Making Music at Noise Pop 2012

Dating back almost twenty years, Noise Pop is an indie music, art and film festival currently taking place in San Francisco, California.

Having featured the likes of Yoko Ono, Yo La Tengo, The Flaming Lips and Death Cab for Cutie, the festival has grown from its origin in 1993 with five bands, one venue all taking place in a single day to one hundred twenty-eight bands at nineteen venues taking place the course of a week.  That’s a lot of noise, popping!

Seagate is proud to partner with Noise Pop for their 20th Anniversary and celebrate the creative process at the Noise Pop Culture Club and the Seagate Remix Lounge.  Celebrating visionary artists within the communities of music, film and art, the Noise Pop Culture Club is an opportunity to showcase the Do-It-Yourself, “indie” spirit through collaboration and discussion about the creative process.

Featured guests and sessions include:
Aaron Rose & Syd Garon on Art + Animation + Film
Johnny Jewel on scoring; Glass Candy; Chromatics; Desire; DIY art
Dubspot Ableton Live with Thavius Beck, Steve Nalepa, B. Bravo

You can see the full schedule for the Noise Pop Culture Club here.

Another way we are celebrating 20 years of Noise Pop is that we are helping them to create a photo album of the artists playing the festival this year. We thought it’d be fun to create a contest where artists tweet pics of themselves, and fans that retweet their favorite artist’s photo are automatically entered to win a Seagate product package.  The artist whose fans generate the most retweets will also receive a PRO package. So stop reading and click that retweet button!

As if that’s not enough, we are also launching SeagateCreative on Facebook – a forum, gallery and community for artists, musicians, filmmakers and photographers.  Whether you’re a Noise Pop headliner or a fan and creative hobbyist, watch and share videos, photos and studio or backstage stories from our Creative Professionals Program partners so you can inspire and be inspired by a collective, do-it-yourself genius.  Join in and share your creative process!

Whatever your creation be it film, art or music, data storage remains at the core of your digital lifestyle. Be sure to check us out at SeagateCreative,  TwitterFacebook for more news about Noise Pop 2012.
