The lifespan of today’s tech is pretty short. Some may say that it’s obsolete the moment you walk out of the store.
Depending on what the device is, I can be a bit of an early adopter. I’ll blame this on my father who was a frequent guest of the now defunct Sharper Image retail stores. But I have to be careful else I’ll end up with a bunch of outdated technology that isn’t always easy to dispose of. I was reminded of this recently as I was doing some cleaning in the garage and stumbled upon a storage bag of stuff including my original iPod (4th generation), a Blackberry Pearl, an iPhone 3GS and a Sony Ericsson S710. (Obviously, I have a thing for phones.)
And this is all within the last 5-7 years. But the infographic below goes back 10 years taking a look at tech that I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to be a proud owner of. Thanks to the HSN Electronics Shop for the reminder of tech of yore.
