What’s the Hub Bub About E3?

If you have any interest in video games, then you may have heard of a little ditty of an event happening this week called E3 a.k.a. the Electronics Entertainment Expo.

But what is it? Well, E3 is the pinnacle event for the video games industry where all week press and industry enthusiasts invade the Los Angeles Convention Center to see what games and peripherals are going to be coming out over the course of the next year.  Think of it like a CES, but for video games.

Seagate’s been a key pillar for gaming on PCs, the web and even some of your favorite consoles for quite a while, so we’ve been looking to start getting in on the E3 fun, as we have at SXSW and CES for many years. And I’m the lucky Seagate gamer who’ll go head-to-head with E3 — since I’m such a fan of gaming professionally (and personally) and love to keep tabs on what’s happening in that industry.

Since I’ll be flying solo, we’ve partnered with our friends, KONSOLE KINGZ, to help us cover the show.  These guys have done a great job in with events in the past including film screenings, game release events and award shows. They even have their own collection of avatar pics and themes for Xbox LIVE and PSN.  If you’re not already, you’ll want to check them out on Twitter for news and information directly from the show.

I’ll be taking pictures, updating the Seagate Twitter and blogging as well.  I can’t let them have all the fun.

With some of the news that’s come out already and game trailers popping up all over the Internet, E3 2012 is shaping up to be an amazing event. So watch this space as we prepare to take the temperature of what’s hot in L.A. this week at the show. Oh, and if you see me zipping around from booth-to-booth, stop me for a *fist bump* or to say “hello.”

See you in LA!
