Never Doubt Your Creative Spirit

Creativity is hard. Ok, maybe not for everyone. But for most people, it’s work. You want to be clever. You want to inspire. You want to fill a void in your life that can only be filled by making something from nothing.

Be it art, prose, music, film or even a business venture – the ability to create is something I feel is within everyone.

Being part of Seagate, we talk with creative professionals constantly through our SeagateCreative program.  My job never has a dull moment, but some of the icing on that cake is working with photographers like Judy Stephens or filmmakers like Nathan Punwar, or interviewing talent like Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn or getting inside the mind of artists like Lord Mesa.

We get to attend events like The Geekie Awards, SXSW, or even the Napa Valley Film Festival.  Creativity is everywhere and so are we because storage is at the center of creativity. Storage is today’s canvas, and it’s where you keep every hope, every dream, every idea, and every concept that molds and shapes you taking you from who you are to who you want to be.

It’s not always rainbows and unicorns – creativity is hard. But you’re not alone.  So take a minute to be inspired by this video by Daniel (frohlocke) who was inspired by David Shiyang Lius who was in turn inspired by Ira Glass. To me, this proves that being creative can be a solo effort, but it doesn’t have to be.  Never doubt your creative spirit.
